Salto was founded by Barbara Dyck and Maarten Bernaerts, two producers who have worked in the Belgian audiovisual scene since 2009. Salto was founded in 2024 and is based in Antwerp.
Barbara Dyck
Producer
Barbara started her career in 2009 at the production company Caviar. There she was responsible for the tax shelter financing of national and international fiction films, documentaries and television series and managed the distribution of the projects.
In 2013, she moved to Sony Pictures Releasing Belgium where she was part of the marketing team working on the theatrical release of films produced by Universal, Paramount and Sony Pictures.
Between 2017 and 2024, she worked as an independent producer at the production company Diplodokus, specializing in documentary film and series production. She has produced documentary films and series selected at festivals around the world, including the Berlinale, Visions du Réel, BANFF World Media festival and Hot Docs Festival. Barbara is a co-founder of Salto where she has been working as a producer since 2024.
Maarten Bernaerts
Creative Producer
In 2008 Maarten graduated from RITCS film school in Brussels and started working as a TV documentary director for production company Woestijnvis. Six years later, he joined the production company De Chinezen, also as a director.
In 2014, he co-founded the documentary production company Diplodokus, where he worked as a creative producer and a director for ten years. Maarten has produced documentary series and films selected at film festivals around the world.
In 2024 Maarten co-founded production company Salto where he is currently working as a creative producer.
