Football or Show Dog?

Football or Show Dog? dives into the world of Lars, a 10-year-old boy exploring his identity through his diverse hobbies. On one hand, Lars loves playing soccer, but on the other, he has a unique passion: dog shows. The film takes the viewer into Lars' world: from the soccer field, where teamwork and competition are central, to the dog training school, where he feels at home next to his loyal poodle Noortje.

Florence Boone who won the VAF Wildcard for her short film Tiger Stripes (Film Fest Ghent), - tells a story that resonates strongly with the lives of children. It highlights a fundamental part of growing up: the difficulty of learning to make choices. Making choices is an essential but often complex aspect of childhood. This learning process starts early and can sometimes feel overwhelming for a child. Football or Show Dog? presents this theme in a playful and relatable way, with attention to the emotions, doubts, and small victories that are part of this growing-up journey.
